少年举目无亲，在空荡荡的豪宅里当管家。豪宅的主人是一位退休的将军，他的突然归来打破了少年平静的生活，对少年而言，将军即是长辈，也像父亲，两人结下了不解之缘。不久，将军开始全力竞选市长，周围始终有人对他虎视眈眈。在将军的威严与挑唆下，少年决定出面干涉。影片取材于导演马克布尔·穆巴拉克青年时期的真实经历，运用精致的构图、昏暗的色彩基调和悬疑惊悚的类型元素，构建出了一个以权力腐败作为社会规则的恐怖世界。两位主角之间操控与反抗的紧张关系，是对印度尼西亚社会长期存在的压迫与不公正现象的绝佳隐喻。荣获2022年威尼斯电影节平行单元费比西影评人奖。
