本·阿弗莱克将成为第一个自导自演的超级英雄饰演者。报道指出，该独立电影已定名《蝙蝠侠》，编剧为《蝙蝠侠大战超人：正义黎明》与《正义联盟》的编剧之一克里斯·特里奥，他此前与小本合作的《逃离德黑兰》，获得了当年的奥斯卡最佳影片奖和最佳改编剧本奖，可见克里斯·特里奥对各种电影题材的把握能力，同时他也将成为好莱坞未来数年最忙碌的编剧之一。
《蝙蝠侠》已定于2018年11月上映，与漫威新片《惊奇队长》正面PK。
