《果酱短片集》由七位日本影坛一线导演拍摄而成，共七部短片。《地狱使者》由北村龙平导演，被称为“The messenger”的黑衣女子神代忧子（鱼谷佳苗饰）出现在报废的大厦房间时，独身强盗权藤（北村一辉饰）的命运由此受到了冲击，极富魔幻色彩；《正义》行定勋导演描写一个正值青春期的男生东条（妻夫木聪饰）被操场上体育课的女生所吸引的故事；《阿里塔》由岩井俊二导演，讲述女孩（广末凉子饰）跟自己幻想出来的“阿里塔”之间的成长故事；以及筱原哲雄执导的《剑玉》、坂田让治导演的《冰冻》、堤辛彦导演的《羊栖菜》和望月六郎导演的《潘朵拉》。 七部短片各自取材编排，情节各异。也有众多日本著名演员参演，共同演绎这七部电影，七处生活。
