古畑任三郎如今早已是人们耳熟能详的名侦探，他独特的中山装，永远骑着自行车的个人风格为人所津津乐道。这次SP就带我们回到他的青少年时光，看看他与一生中最重要的人相遇的故事，那是他侦探人生的起点。 15岁的任三郎（山田凉介 饰）因为父母关系转学到小山区，喜爱读推理小说的他并未太主动与同学接触。一日学校的小花圃的花被人恶意践踏，任三郎找出了“元凶”，从此他小侦探的声名不胫而走。任三郎索性在后山一间空置的房屋内办起了侦探事务所。可惜前来上门的客人拜托的都是鸡毛蒜皮的小事。直到一日，有人上门拜托寻找失落的宝藏，事情才有了变化。 但是随着侦查的过程，任三郎意识到自己身边开始有危险，而一切似乎都是一个局。自己平日最不信任的人在关键时刻却救了自己。
