《Dexter》消失在我们的视线中已经很久，最近终于传来了这部剧集第4季的新消息，Dexter的杀人之路将如何继续呢？首先当这部剧集在秋季归来时，故事将会发生在第3季结束的6个月后，Dexter和Rita新婚之后，并生下来了一个男宝宝。“在这一季中，我们将面对的是：一个连环杀手如何平衡个人生活、工作以及他的黑暗生活。”该剧的制作人Sara Colleton如此说：“换句话说，Dexter是否能够拥有一切？其实就是困扰着我们每一天生活的这些问题，非常贴近每个人，我们会看到Dexter如何来应对这一切。”而Dexter本季的强劲对手男角色暂时还未选定，“他会照亮Dexter的生活，强迫他做出一切苦难的选择。”至于Dexter的老妹Deb，将于继续迫近Dexter的黑暗秘密。“贯穿整季的故事中，Deb想了解她的父亲更多一些，于是她的调查越来越接近Dexter的亲生母亲的真实身份。”也许有一天Dexter不得不想办法“对付”自己的这个不听话的妹妹。
